The Role

As an Assistant Audit Manager, you will take responsibility for planning, leading and completing audit assignments across a diverse client portfolio. You will ensure high technical quality, strong client relationships and the smooth delivery of each engagement. The role also includes preparing Accounts and supporting the development of junior team members as a key member of the Audit & Accounts team.

About You

  • Fully qualified ACCA/ACA with post-qualification audit experience
  • Proven ability to deliver audit engagements independently
  • Strong technical understanding of auditing standards and financial reporting frameworks
  • Confident communicator with excellent organisational skills
  • Experience with charity and/or solicitor audits is desirable
  • Positive, proactive approach and commitment to client service
  • Familiarity with cloud-based audit software and IRIS is helpful (training available)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage audit engagements from planning through to completion
  • Perform detailed risk assessments and ensure compliance with auditing and ethical standards
  • Prepare Accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Draft Corporation Tax computations
  • Act as the main client contact throughout the audit, providing clear explanations and practical advice
  • Review audit work to ensure quality, accuracy and consistency
  • Coach, mentor and support trainees and newly qualified staff to aid their development
