Overview
The SpeechPathologist delivers services in accordance to the IEP mandates of students in our Clearpool School, while working as part of the larger agency Related Services Team. This position will be responsible for providing individual sessions focused on improving language skills, pragmatics, fluency and speech intelligibility related to academic and vocational needs. Due to the nature of the school, the SpeechPathologist has smaller caseloads compared to a typical school caseload.
Education / Experience
- Master’s degree in Speech and Hearing Pathology / Communication Disorders
Licensure / Certification
- New York State License in Speech Pathology
- ASHA certification
Specific Responsibilities
- Provide individualized and evidence-based therapy for students with speech and language disorders
- Conduct testing related to student speech needs and submit written evaluations as needed
- Participate in CSE meetings by preparing updated progress reports and individualized goals for students receiving speech services in our Clearpool School program
- Provide daily documentation of attendance and session notes, maintain Easy Trac and IEP notes
- Perform formal and informal evaluations for triennial meetings and referrals
- Complete written assessments of evaluations and progress reports
- Complete any/all writings of student progress, further needs, measurable short- and long-term goals, and service recommendations for IEP’s
- Collaborate and consult with other staff as needed
- Attend and report at annual review meetings and other scheduled appointments
- Review and sign off on notes of non-credentialed Speech Pathologists as needed
- Other duties as assigned
This is a 16‑hour a week role and is not benefit eligible.
