The team of over 100 Engineers and Consultants deliver projects on behalf of Clients from four offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Livingston, and Biggar.

GCR sits at the centre of an international group working closely alongside our sister consultancy businesses: Green Cat Renewables Canada, based in Calgary, Canada and Green Cat Renewables Europe, based in Amersfoort, Netherlands; as well as working alongside our UK based development companies Green Cat Hydrogen, Green Cat Renewable Developments and Green Cat Contracting.

Through the Engineering Department, the company provides Engineering Consultancy and Project Management services to Clients on utility scale wind, solar, BESS, green hydrogen and hybrid projects.

We are currently searching for an experienced

Project Manager to join our growing team and support the delivery of renewable energy projects.

This role sits at the heart of project execution, helping drive successful outcomes across technical, commercial, and construction phases of energy infrastructure developments.

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced

Project Manager to join our growing Engineering and Project Management team.

This is a key delivery role, supporting the successful execution of renewable energy projects from post consent through to operation.

You will be responsible for managing or supporting the delivery of utility-scale energy infrastructure projects across BESS, Solar, Wind, and Hydrogen, working within a highly technical, multi-disciplinary environment.

This role offers the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle on high-value energy assets typically ranging from 50–200+ MW, across the UK.

Working within the team, your roles and responsibilities will include

  • Lead or support the delivery of renewable energy projects across BESS, Solar, Wind, and Hydrogen.
  • Manage projects from post-consent through FEED, financial close, construction, commissioning, and operation.
  • Support or take responsibility for programme, budget, scope, quality, and risk management appropriate to the project and role.
  • Administer or support NEC, FIDIC, EPC, and multi-contract delivery models.
  • Support the management of contractor performance, commercial delivery, project interfaces, and integrated project programmes.
  • Act as the key interface between clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders, providing project reporting and governance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Promote compliance with health, safety, environmental, and CDM requirements, with the ability to act as, support, or demonstrate a strong understanding of the Principal Designer role under CDM 2015.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and the successful delivery of renewable energy assets.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 3+ years of professional experience in project management or project delivery.
  • Working towards registration as a Chartered Engineer or PM with a relevant professional body.
  • Experience supporting or delivering renewable energy projects across wind, solar, BESS, or hydrogen.
  • Experience supporting projects through development, pre-construction, construction, commissioning, or operation.
  • Experience working with and managing a diverse range of technical stakeholders across engineering and construction environments.
  • An understanding of project controls, contract management, and construction delivery.
  • Good working knowledge of health, safety and environmental management within construction environments.
  • Working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, with experience acting in or supporting Principal Designer duties highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Renewable energy industry network including clients, OEMs, EPC contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders.
  • Valid Driving Licence for use within the UK.
  • Right to work in the UK on a full-time basis.
