Green Cat Hydrogen Limited (GCH) is a dynamic and innovative green hydrogen project developer. GCH focuses on the deployment of electrolytic hydrogen projects as a key part of the global energy transition and decarbonisation strategy. The business works closely with sister companies through the planning, permitting/licensing, engineering, design, and construction of green hydrogen projects.

The role involves:

  • Providing process safety related technical design competence and guidance to Green Cat Hydrogen.
  • Leading or supporting the planning and implementation of the Process Hazards Analysis programmes including chairing Hazard Studies and/or identifying appropriate resources to chair.
  • Leading or supporting LOPAs (Level of Protection Analysis) reviews.
  • Producing DSEAR assessments and Hazardous Area Classification documents.
  • Regularly reviewing the status of process safety information, identifying gaps, and developing improvement plans for projects.
  • Providing approval for projects with process safety impact to ensure robustness of engineering design.
  • Coaching/mentoring less experienced engineers and others to ensure process safety issues are addressed as part of design and operational processes.
  • Managing Hazardous Substances Consent and COMAH reports to meet legislative requirements.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • 8+ years of experience in process safety design within relevant industries (e.g., hydrogen, Oil & Gas, renewable energy, industrial gases, or chemical processing).
  • Strong technical skills in the process safety area.
  • Experience in leading HAZOP, HAZID, SIL assessments, and other safety studies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complicated systems and regulations.
  • Risk assessment skills – knowledge of specific tools required and ability to interpret results.
  • Demonstrated awareness of human factors influence on process safety.
  • TUV Certified or experience with Safety Instrumented Systems Lifecycle.
  • Experience with the interpretation of results from QRAs.
  • Strong understanding of process safety management principles.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, supported by a valid UK driving license.
  • The right to work in the United Kingdom, full-time, in perpetuity.
