I am looking for a manager for a leaving care service based in Taunton. The role comes with a great salary and benefits along with the opportunity to work for an organisation who strive to enhance the lives of young people. The service provides invaluable support for young people aged 16 -18 in a supported living setting who are being prepared for independent living when they leave the care service. This will include assisting with improving their independence skills, applying for jobs, finance, cooking and managing their home.
The homes have established workforces in place, made up of senior support workers, support workers and bank staff. The homes are also supported by a Registered Manager.
The main duties of the role include:
- Rota Management
- Staff supervisions and development
- Effective oversight of care plans and striving for the best outcomes for any young person living in the service
- Manage the service's budget and spending habits
- Administrative duties and report writing
- Effective management of safeguarding in line with regulatory framework expectations.
To be considered for this great opportunity, ideally, you will hold Level 3 in Children and Young People qualification and be willing to work towards or have completed Level 5 in Leadership and Management. You will have experience and understanding of the leaving care service and you will have team leadership experience. Due to the nature of the service there will be a requirement for some evening and weekend work and a driving licence is essential.
