Job Title: Senior ASHP Designer Location: North West – Birkenhead Office Salary: Circa Β£40,000 – Β£55,000 About Our Client Our client is a leading domestic retrofit and renewable energy company, specialising in Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) installations. They deliver high-quality, energy-efficient solutions that help households reduce energy costs and support the UK’s low-carbon agenda. Role Overview We are seeking a Senior ASHP Designer to join the team in a primarily office-based role. This role is ideally suited to an experienced heating engineer who wants to transition from site-based work into design and project planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing domestic heating systems based on ASHPs, ensuring systems are efficient, compliant, and tailored to each property. Key Responsibilities * Design domestic heating systems using Air Source Heat Pumps, ensuring compliance with MCS, PAS 2035, and other relevant standards. * Produce detailed system layouts, drawings, and specifications for installations. * Collaborate with project managers, surveyors, and installers to ensure designs are practical and achievable. * Assess property surveys and technical data to inform bespoke ASHP solutions. * Provide technical guidance to installation teams and support troubleshooting queries. * Review and approve system designs for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. * Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and tools. Skills and Experience Required * Proven experience as a heating engineer, ideally with exposure to ASHPs. * Strong knowledge of domestic heating systems, heat loss calculations, and energy efficiency principles. * Competent in CAD or similar design software to produce system layouts. * Understanding of PAS 2035, MCS standards, and building regulations. * Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills. * Ability to work independently in an office-based environment while supporting field teams remotely. * Strong attention to detail and quality assurance mindset.
