Role Overview Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified Retrofit Assessor who can also undertake Pre-Installation Building Inspections (PIBI) in line with PAS 2035 guidance. This combined role ensures both compliant retrofit assessments and robust site readiness checks are completed simultaneously — improving installation quality, streamlining project delivery, and reducing the risk of delays or design errors. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the organisation’s Operations team, Retrofit Coordinators, and Designers, providing accurate, evidence-based assessments that support compliant, efficient, and successful retrofit installations. Key Responsibilities Retrofit Assessment (PAS 2035) * Conduct detailed, PAS-compliant retrofit assessments for domestic properties. * Gather and analyse data on occupancy, energy usage, ventilation, building condition, and existing systems. * Produce and submit Retrofit Assessment Reports to support whole-house retrofit planning. * Identify and record any risks, limitations, or constraints affecting proposed measures. * Communicate effectively with residents, ensuring professionalism and clear engagement. Pre-Installation Building Inspection (PIBI) / Technical Survey * Complete the PAS-compliant PIBI form as part of the assessment visit. * Evaluate key property aspects such as wall and roof construction, access, ventilation, and pre-existing defects. * Identify technical, logistical, or safety issues that may affect installation feasibility. * Carry out Technical Surveys for insulation measures to support pricing and compliance documentation. * Provide clear photographic evidence and detailed supporting notes. * Liaise with Retrofit Coordinators and Designers to flag redesign or remedial requirements where needed. Skills, Qualifications & Experience Essential – MUST HAVE! * Qualified Retrofit Assessor (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Assessment or equivalent). * Strong understanding of PAS 2035 and TrustMark frameworks. * Knowledge of building construction, ventilation systems, and domestic retrofit measures. * Excellent reporting, documentation, and attention to detail. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. * Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (field-based role). * Experience working with Retrofit Coordinators and Installers. * Knowledge of ECO4 and GBIS funding processes and compliance. * DEA (Domestic Energy Assessor) qualification. * Experience identifying and mitigating risks during pre-installation inspections.
