ECO Submissions Officer Location: Birkenhead Department: ECO Team Reports to: ECO Operations Manager Salary: Up to £27,000 base / £30K+ OTE About Our Client Our client is a leading organisation helping households reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint through government-funded energy efficiency schemes. They deliver home improvements such as insulation, heating upgrades, and renewable technologies under the ECO (Energy Company Obligation) and other related funding programmes. They are seeking a detail-focused and organised ECO Submissions Officer to join their growing team and play a key role in ensuring installations meet scheme requirements and are successfully submitted for funding. Role Purpose The ECO Submissions Officer will be responsible for preparing, checking, and submitting ECO compliance documentation to funders. This role ensures that all paperwork, evidence, and data meet scheme rules and company standards so that claims are processed accurately and within set deadlines. Key Responsibilities * Review job files and evidence packs for accuracy and completeness prior to submission. * Prepare and upload submission files to funding portals within agreed timeframes. * Ensure all submissions meet Ofgem and funder compliance requirements. * Liaise with internal teams — including surveyors, installers, and administrators — to resolve missing or incorrect documentation. * Track submission progress and follow up on any rejections or outstanding queries. * Stay up to date with ECO scheme changes, documentation standards, and compliance updates. * Maintain accurate and organised digital records to ensure full audit compliance. * Support the wider compliance team with reporting, data entry, and quality checks. Skills & Experience Required Essential – MUST HAVE! * Previous experience in ECO submissions, compliance, or a similar role within the energy sector. * Strong understanding of ECO4, GBIS, or equivalent government energy schemes. * Knowledge of Ofgem rules, funding processes, and submission portals. * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in document handling. * Strong organisational and administrative skills. * Confident user of Excel, databases, and digital documentation systems. * Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively. * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
