About Us:
We are a leading specialist contractor in the façade and glazing industry, delivering high-quality curtain walling, windows, doors, and bespoke aluminium systems for commercial and residential projects across the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, we are looking to appoint an experienced Designer to join our technical team in the West Midlands.
The Role:
As a Designer, you will be responsible for the detailed design and coordination of glazing and aluminium façade systems, ensuring technical compliance, buildability, and alignment with client and project requirements. You will work closely with project managers, clients, suppliers, and fabrication teams to deliver fully coordinated and accurate design packages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed drawings, elevations, and sections using AutoCAD (and/or Revit if applicable)
- Prepare fabrication drawings and material schedules for aluminium systems
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and internal teams to resolve design queries
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, building regulations, and client specifications
- Support design meetings, site visits, and technical workshops
- Manage design revisions and document control in line with project timelines
- Liaise with system suppliers (e.g. Schüco, Reynaers, Kawneer) for technical details and approvals
Requirements:
- Experience in the design of glazing, aluminium curtain walling, windows, and doors
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience is advantageous
- Strong understanding of façade systems, materials, and fixings
- Familiarity with industry standards and UK building regulations
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Based in the West Midlands with the option of hybrid working (typically 2–3 days WFH)
