Overview: Our client is a well-established specialist contractor within the roofing and cladding sector. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Roofing & Cladding Designer to join their technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality design and construction drawings, supporting projects from pre-construction through to installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed roofing and cladding design drawings in line with project specifications
- Develop technical solutions for roofing and façade systems
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Prepare construction details, sections, and layouts
- Liaise with internal teams, architects, engineers, and site teams
- Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations and industry standards
- Support design coordination and attend design meetings where required
- Assist with design changes and value engineering during the project lifecycle
Required Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Designer within roofing and cladding or façades
- Strong knowledge of roofing and cladding systems and components
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar design software)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
- Experience working for a specialist subcontractor
- Knowledge of rainscreen cladding, composite panels, and architectural metalwork
- Familiarity with BIM / Revit environments
