Location: UK (office-based, with some flexibility depending on project requirements)

Overview: Our client is a well-established specialist contractor within the roofing and cladding sector. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Roofing & Cladding Designer to join their technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality design and construction drawings, supporting projects from pre-construction through to installation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed roofing and cladding design drawings in line with project specifications
  • Develop technical solutions for roofing and façade systems
  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings
  • Prepare construction details, sections, and layouts
  • Liaise with internal teams, architects, engineers, and site teams
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations and industry standards
  • Support design coordination and attend design meetings where required
  • Assist with design changes and value engineering during the project lifecycle

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Designer within roofing and cladding or façades
  • Strong knowledge of roofing and cladding systems and components
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar design software)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

  • Experience working for a specialist subcontractor
  • Knowledge of rainscreen cladding, composite panels, and architectural metalwork
  • Familiarity with BIM / Revit environments
