Job Title: Design Lead Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 Location: Hybrid (flexible – choose your office days) About the Role We are looking for an experienced Designer to join a leading specialist in aluminium façade and glazing systems. Reporting directly to the Directors and Preconstruction Manager, you will oversee a team of 3–4 designers while working closely alongside the other Design Manager/Design Lead. The business is experiencing a period of rapid growth, with a strong pipeline of long-term projects secured. To support this expansion, the design team is growing — making this a fantastic time to join and play a key role in shaping its future. Key Responsibilities * Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3–4 designers. * Share responsibility for design delivery alongside the other Design Manager/Design Lead. * Oversee detailed drawings and technical submissions for curtain walling, glazing, and aluminium façade projects. * Ensure designs meet client requirements, project specifications, and industry standards. * Collaborate with Directors, Preconstruction, and wider project teams to support bids and project planning. * Drive improvements in design processes, standards, and efficiency. * Support the long-term strategic growth of the design department. About You * Proven track record in design management within façades, glazing, or aluminium systems. * Strong leadership skills with experience developing teams. * Excellent technical knowledge of curtain walling, windows, and aluminium systems. * Confident communicator with the ability to liaise across internal and external stakeholders. * Organised, proactive, and motivated to contribute to a business at a key stage of growth.
