Our client is seeking a Roofing & Cladding Designer / Senior Designer to join their expanding design team. The role involves delivering high-quality façade and roofing designs across a range of commercial and residential projects.
This is a full-time office-based position. The successful candidate will produce detailed design and technical drawings, working closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams. Occasional site visits may be required.
Key Responsibilities- Produce roofing and cladding construction detail drawings
- Prepare elevation, plan, and technical drawings for projects
- Panel and sub-grid setting-out drawings
- Material take-offs and coordination with the commercial team
- Conduct site surveys and inspections, including photographic records
- Attend design and progress meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and Building Control
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain specifications, confirmations, U-values, and condensation calculations
- Coordinate with client representatives, structural engineers, consultants, and site teams
- Maintain project documentation, drawing registers, RFIs, and change logs
- Issue technical submissions and updated drawings to clients
- Proven experience in roofing and cladding design
- Senior level: experience leading projects and managing multiple designs
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D; knowledge of 3D AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Bluebeam is advantageous
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work semi-autonomously from verbal, written, or sketched instructions
- Knowledge of cladding systems, panels, insulation, fixings, fire barriers, and membranes
- Ability to produce accurate technical drawings from surveys, photos, and mapping tools
- UK-based and within a commutable distance to the office
- Full right to work in the UK
- Driving licence preferred
- £40,000 – £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
