privately owned, multi-disciplinary construction group
operating across the North East and North Yorkshire. Built over several decades, the business has developed a strong reputation through consistent delivery, long-standing client relationships, and a stable leadership team.

This is a
senior, business-critical appointment
. The
Operations Manager
will be based in Leyburn and will operate in a General Manager – Operations capacity, sitting at the centre of the organisation and influencing how the business performs day to day. Working closely with the Directors, this role provides operational leadership, structure, and clarity across the wider group.

You will have overall responsibility for
business operations
, ensuring teams are aligned, standards are maintained, and priorities are clearly set. The role combines operational oversight with hands-on leadership,
problem solving
, and decision making. You will take ownership of non-operational functions including HR, recruitment, and health and safety, while driving improvements across internal processes, systems, and compliance.

The remit also covers company infrastructure and assets. This includes management of company vehicles and procurement, motor fleet insurance claims, IT systems and software implementation, company properties, and key contract renewals. You will support senior recruitment activity, contribute to internal governance, and play a leading role in management meetings and communication across the business.

This role will suit someone who has operated previously as an
Operations Manager, General Manager, or Head of Operations
, ideally within construction, engineering, or a related multi-site environment. You will bring strong commercial awareness, sound judgement, and the confidence to lead across functions and senior stakeholders.
