A well-established haulage and aggregates business is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager / Fleet Controller to take ownership of a mixed fleet of around 140 vehicles and plant assets operating across multiple depots.

Working closely with the Garage Manager, HGV technicians and Transport team, you will coordinate workshop workflow, manage maintenance schedules and ensure fleet availability remains high while downtime is kept to a minimum. This is a hands-on operational role covering HGVs, LGVs, commercial vans and company vehicles.

You will be responsible for booking MOTs, servicing and inspections, managing external suppliers, raising purchase orders, sourcing parts, and maintaining accurate records within the fleet management system. Compliance is central to the role, with responsibility for ensuring vehicles meet O Licence undertakings and DVSA requirements at all times.

You’ll also support wider operations by liaising daily with depot and transport managers on vehicle availability, processing supplier invoices, managing consumables stock, and producing invoices for third-party work.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in fleet management or fleet control
  • Strong understanding of HGV/LGV maintenance and compliance
  • Comfortable supporting multi-depot operations
  • Organised, practical and commercially aware
  • Confident working with workshops, suppliers and transport teams
  • Able to prioritise in a fast-moving environment

Package:

Excellent package depending on experience, 33 days annual leave including bank holidays, workplace pension, and a stable Monday–Friday working pattern. This is a solid opportunity for a Fleet professional looking for operational ownership within a busy, well-run transport and aggregates business.
