Minimum Requirements:

  • New York State Teaching Certification in Special Education

  • Experience successfully teaching students with disabilities

Position Summary / Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver specially designed instruction to students with disabilities
  • Implement and deliver special education programs
  • Progress monitor IEP goals
  • Collaborate with related service providers to share student progress and address concerns
  • Communicate with families on a regular basis to share progress and address concerns
  • Develop students' IEPs and participate in CSE meetings
  • Collect and analyze student data for the purposes of progress reporting on IEPs and student report cards
  • Administer formative and summative assessments for purposes of instructional planning and progress monitoring
  • Provide direction and guidance to support staff working in the classroom
  • Participate in staff meetings and in Professional Learning Communities as well as engage in professional learning
