A large independent packaging manufacturer who provides solutions to a wide range of customer markets such as industrial, food service, pharmaceutical, healthcare, grocery, and retail is looking to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Support the QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment) Manager in maintaining and enhancing safety standards across the manufacturing site.
  • Implement health and safety policies, conduct risk assessments, advise on best practices, and promote a culture of safety awareness among employees.
  • Assist the QSHE Manager in developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support accident investigations, including root cause analysis, and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Deliver training and workshops to employees on health and safety practices and safe working procedures.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of safety audits, incidents, and training activities.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure safe work practices and maintain a positive safety culture.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and legislative changes to advise the business effectively.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Previous experience in a health and safety advisory role within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and implement practical solutions.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office applications for record-keeping and reporting.
