Company Profile: A printed flexible packaging manufacturer is seeking a Compliance Manager to enhance its established team in Yorkshire. The company specializes in extrusion, printing, and conversion for both food and non-food sectors. They are looking for an experienced leader to join the team, offering a salary of £42,000 – £45,000 per annum, based on experience. Job Title: Compliance Manager Main Responsibilities of the Compliance Manager: As Compliance Manager you will need to be highly diligent, with excellent attention to detail. This is an important position, and you will need to be highly conscientious and responsible, as defective products could cost a company significant loss, as well as damage to their reputation and brand name. Core Duties/ Responsibilities of the Compliance Manager: Manage BRC and ISO accreditation requirements – ensure compliance to both standards Be responsible for the sites Quality Management System – improve, maintain, review and update Be the HARA team leader and manage the site HARA team Manage the site HARA plan – improve, review, maintain, update Head up all third party and customer site audits related to quality Management of the internal audit process, ensure audits are scheduled and completed on time Ensuring nonconformances raised during internal and external audits are logged, managed, actioned, closed and action effectiveness is monitored Establish quality and compliance objectives and KPIs Monitor and report the Quality KPIs Prepare information for quality meetings Prepare for the senior management review meeting – pull departmental reports together, arrange the meeting, present the reports presentation to the team Manage the supplier approval and performance monitoring process Manage the calibration schedule, ensure equipment is calibrated when required Be the contact for the pest control contractor, manage visits and issues arising Write, review and update site policies and management procedures Be responsible for control of records and documents Prepare for and present compliance during customer quality reviews Jointly prepare staff briefings for quality and compliance Manage the information to communicate on the quality notice board Assure site hygiene Crisis management team lead, arrange mock withdrawals and traceability exercises when due Report compliance updates and issues during daily meetings Assist with quality aspects when required Cover Quality & Technical Co-ordinator during absence This position includes having the Quality & Technical Coordinator as a direct report. Key Areas of Focus: Promote the quality objectives of the business to ensure that they are clearly understood at all levels of RM/RME. Ensure product safety and quality through the company HARA plan. Management of the company Quality Management System, ensuring compliance to its requirements. Improve quality and product through implementation of preventative actions following internal audit nonconformances. Management of ISO9001 and BRC systems. Increase focus on quality at RME Skills, Capabilities & Attributes of the Compliance Manager: A strong ability to influence and articulate messages. Excellent Communication skills – both written and verbal. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise a busy and varied workload. Problem solver and Proactive thinker. Ability to work both efficiently and effectively alone as well as part of a large and varied team Flexibility and excellent attention to detail is essential. High working knowledge of all MS Packages including Excel and Word. Willingness to learn and a strong desire to develop and grow within the organisation. Enjoy working to deadlines and targets in a fast-paced environment. Have experience building relationships and liaising with stakeholders. Data Analysis and statistical aptitude. Highly conscientious and diligent. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, with ability to check own work outputs. Enthusiastic, committed and flexible to the demands of a fast-paced business with a significant amount of change.
