Title

Maintenance Engineer – Electrical bias

Role and Responsibilities

  • Commissioning, testing, installing, maintenance and serving of Stretch Film wrapping machines – both in field and at Sheffield Nano site
  • Completing daily issued works orders on a tablet for call out, repairs or servicing as allocated by Manager / Supervisor / Team Leader
  • The role is based at the Sheffield site but the stretch wrappers are all over the UK, travelling from Sheffield to site daily
  • 60/40 electrical/mechanical bias
  • Working overtime as and when required – occasional overnight stay
  • Work with the Engineering Team Leader to ensure spares are topped up in allocated van for works orders
  • Report any fault finding
  • Set up and take down of approximately 3 exhibitions in the UK
  • Proactive ideas / solutions encouraged
  • Wherever necessary, act as a member for Engineering Workshop trainees, providing guidance and advise as required
  • Customers are based across all industries including but not limited to raw and cooked food production, OEMs and third-party logistics / distribution.
  • Full logo uniform and PPE supplied
  • Weekly 30-minute communication meetings

Qualifications and knowledge

  • Awareness of the Environmental Policy
  • Health and Safety at work
  • Experienced Maintenance Engineer
  • Worked with stretch wrap machines or similar but full training will be given
  • Working, understanding of and troubleshooting of Siemens KTP 400 HMI panels, Unitronics V130 HMI/PLC, TIA
  • Carried out maintenance work at customer sites
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications or minimum of 3 years’ experience on the job
  • NVQ Level 3

Skills and experience

  • Very strong communication skills as you will predominately be on our customer sites
  • Proactive approach essential
  • Good planning and prioritising skills
  • Good customer service skills are essential
  • Good IT skills are essential – knowledge of Microsoft NAV (Navision) and TAG would be an advantage. Outlook and Teams are used daily
  • Good problem – solving skills
  • Conscientious attitude to do a good job
  • Patience when training others
  • Strong team player
  • The role can be physically demanding so good health and dexterity is required
  • Full clean UK Driving License
  • FLT trained would be an advantage
  • MMA/Stick Welding experience would be an advantage
