Role and Responsibilities:
- Customer Relationship Management
- Manage and grow relationships with national and high-value customers across the UK.
- Serve as the main point of contact for strategic accounts, ensuring reliable communication and excellent customer experience.
- Conduct regular customer visits, business reviews, and performance updates.
- Sales Delivery & Commercial Activities
- Drive sales growth within assigned accounts to meet revenue and margin targets.
- Identify upselling, cross-selling, and new business opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver customer proposals, tenders, and quotes.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms within agreed company parameters.
- Maintain accurate forecasts and pipeline information using the CRM system.
- Market & Product Awareness
- Understand product range, value propositions, and manufacturing capability.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities.
- Provide customer feedback to internal teams to support product development and continuous improvement.
- Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Finance to ensure accurate order fulfilment and exceptional service.
- Support the Sales Director and senior leadership with customer insights, data, and reporting.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and projects relating to customers or product offerings.
- Governance & Values
- Operate within company guidelines, policies, and pricing structures.
- Uphold values and promote responsible practice in all customer interactions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant commercial, contractual, and ethical standards.
Qualifications and knowledge:
- Experience in a field sales, account management, or business development role.
- Proven success managing large or multi-site customers.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing and negotiation.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer engagement skills.
- Manufacturing/technical experience within a similar role in FMCG.
- Project management appreciation.
- Material Knowledge (aluminium).
- Communication skills (verbal and written).
- Food Packaging Manufacturing Budget control experience.
- Understanding of sustainability drivers in packaging or manufacturing.
- Experience with tender processes or national customer frameworks.
