Company profile: We are working with a well-established distributor of packaging consumables that provides a complete packaging solution to each one of its clients.

Role and Responsibilities: We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed individual to be an integral part of a sales team providing back-office support (including providing quotes and placing orders) to enable a field sales packaging specialist to spend their time actively selling, as well as account management to generate new sales orders.

Keys responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Support to allocated Packaging Specialist/s (Field sales)
  • Generate quotes
  • Process orders
  • Liaise with Warehouse to check order on course and inform customers of any potential delays/problems escalating to packaging specialist when appropriate
  • Deal with customer enquiries
  • Escalate issues to packaging specialist as and when required
  • Account Management/Sales
  • Provide account management for allocated customers including:
    • Be main point of call for all enquiries
    • Manage stock levels for call off stock
    • Deal with any queries/complaints escalating when appropriate
    • Proactively target new and inactive customers with the aim of gaining sales/regular custom
    • Actively cross-sell and up-sell products to existing customers
  • General Admin
  • Answer incoming calls and relocate them to the appropriate person if necessary
  • Respond to emails that come into general sales email address
  • File quotes and orders

Qualifications and knowledge:

  • Worked in a similar internal sales role
  • Worked for Wholesaler/Merchant preferable but not essential
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good planning and organisation skills
  • Strong IT skills including using email, word, Business Central (or similar customer order system)
  • Sales skills

Salary & Benefits: £26,765.00, rising to £28,394.89 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays Contributory pension scheme in line with auto-enrolment and medical cash back plan
