Location: West Yorkshire
Purpose of job:
Define, implement, and manage all aspects of the artwork process from customer interface to production.
Key Accountabilities:
Manage the Artwork Process Within the Business
Devise, manage, and maintain a robust business process for managing customer artwork.
Implement a consistent Artwork Review process to evaluate printability and operational efficiency while meeting customer expectations for Quality and Service.
Work with departmental managers to ensure the agreed process is adhered to throughout the business, identifying, resolving, and rectifying any issues arising.
Develop appropriate reports to present data on the effectiveness of the department
Manage Reprographics Partners to Suit Business Needs
Liaise with reprographic partners to share best practices and build relationships for training and development opportunities.
Carry out assessments of potential reprographic partners.
Conduct audits of preferred repro partners through consistent evaluation.
Make decisions on partner selection based on value judgment.
Design and implement processes to interact with agreed suppliers.
Support Procurement/Supply Chain in determining competitive pricing and service levels.
Continuously improve processes and supplier support.
Work with production to ensure agreed fingerprints are generated and current.
Colour Management
Complete colour management audits.
Liaise with customers and artwork providers.
Define expectations prior to receipt of customer artwork.
Attend relevant customer prepress meetings.
Standardise processes and standards with the company.
Work with the Ink Coordinator to establish a consistent approach to colour management.
Define parameters around anilox specification on a job-by-job basis (alongside Jelenas role).
Collaborate with Production Management to efficiently manage customer press passes and ensure expectations are met.
Oversee management of colour standards and samples.
New Business Development and Support
Liaise with the Sales team to measure new business performance and support RFT (Right First Time) delivery on new accounts.
Support customer projects from artwork receipt through to printed supply.
Attend customer meetings with external sales to ensure smooth implementation of new business.
Work with NPD to ensure artwork for sample generation reflects production capabilities and provide input for improvement.
Operations
Support the QHSE manager in resolving NCRs related to print/colour issues.
Lead and attend artwork review meetings, providing advice on the production of new or existing artwork.
Review and discuss laser-related requirements with the Technical and Laser Teams.
Effectively Manage Graphics and Support Team
Manage, coach, and mentor all members of the Graphics Support team.
Identify training needs within the team.
Establish personal development plans in line with business expectations.
Set individual team objectives and monitor progress throughout the year.
Conduct annual appraisals and performance reviews.
Ensure roles and objectives are clearly communicated and understood.
General
Keep technical knowledge relevant and up to date.
Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and adherence to health & safety procedures.
Be flexible and assist outside normal working hours when necessary.
Support other business activities as required.
Skills & Competences:
Flexographic printing experience essential.
Experience of reprographic and artwork arena essential.
Highly motivated, driven self-starter.
