A well established and highly regarded education organisation based in Surrey is seeking an enthusiastic and customer focused IT Support Engineer to join its busy internal IT team supporting a large and modern technology environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT Support Engineer with strong 1st and 2nd line support experience looking to take the next step within a professional and well invested IT environment. The role offers exposure to Microsoft 365, Windows support, classroom technology, device management and infrastructure projects within a large user environment. You will be joining a collaborative IT team supporting over 1,500 users across a broad technology estate. The position would suit someone who enjoys a varied and hands on support role whilst continuing to develop their technical skills and career within education IT.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to staff and students
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and Microsoft 365 related issues
- Support Windows laptops, desktops, printers and peripheral devices
- Assist with Microsoft 365 administration and user account management
- Support AV, classroom and teaching technology systems
- Manage and update IT support tickets ensuring excellent customer service
- Assist with device deployments, imaging and system upgrades
- Support basic networking and infrastructure troubleshooting
- Work closely with senior engineers on IT projects and continuous improvements
- Deliver a professional and user focused IT support service at all times
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous experience within an IT Support Engineer, IT Technician or 2nd Line Support role
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows environments
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Active Directory
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including switches, WiFi and connectivity
- Experience supporting laptops, desktops and end user devices
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively
- Previous experience working within the education sector is essential
