Help a $53M education impact fund prepare its annual Impact Showcase. You will map data from 8 global NGO partners against the IRIS+ framework, research benchmarks, and draft narratives. This is a bounded 6‑week remote role with a tangible professionally published output you can be proud of.

Greater Share's Impact Showcase is the primary document through which we communicate the collective impact of its eight NGO partners to its investors, board, and the wider education and impact investing community. Many of the Fund's stakeholders come from a private equity background, so rigorous, well‑contextualised data presented in a professional format is essential to maintaining their confidence and engagement.

The Executive Director's bandwidth is the binding constraint on the quality and depth of the Showcase. Without your contribution, the report risks being thinner on evidence, weaker on benchmarking, all of which matter for credibility with sophisticated investors. Your work will directly shape the published report. The data you map, the benchmarks you research, and the narrative drafts you prepare will flow through to the final product that reaches the Fund's investors and partners. This is not background research that sits in a drawer; it is the substance of a document that represents the Fund externally.

Beyond the Showcase itself, the IRIS+ mapping work has strategic significance. The GIIN currently publishes impact performance benchmarks for five sectors but not for education. Greater Share is interested in exploring the opportunity to contribute anonymised data toward a future education benchmark. Your analytical work on the mapping will directly inform a potentially sector‑wide conversation.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with a strong analytical mindset who enjoys working with data and translating it into clear, compelling narratives. The most important quality is the ability to work independently to deadlines. This is a small organisation, so the volunteer needs to be comfortable picking up a well‑defined brief and running with it, asking questions when needed but not requiring day‑to‑day supervision.

In Terms Of Skills, The Essentials Are:

  • Confidence working with spreadsheets and structured data, ideally in Excel;
  • Familiarity with and ideally access to a paid, confidential AI such as Claude Opus 4.6 or equivalent;
  • The ability to write clearly in professional English;
  • Enough intellectual curiosity to get to grips with an impact measurement framework quickly.

Experience in any of the following areas would be a strong advantage:

  • Impact measurement or evaluation (particularly the IRIS+ system managed by the GIIN);
  • International development or education research;
  • Social investment, impact investing, or philanthropy;
  • Synthesising qualitative and quantitative evidence into concise written outputs.

A background in consulting, research, policy analysis, or similar analytical roles would translate well. The volunteer does not need to be a subject‑matter expert in education. What matters is analytical rigour, clear writing, and the ability to handle data with detail and care.
