Vacancy for Cover Supervisor
Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 6, Points 7-12 of the Meridian Trust Support pay scale.
Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 08:30-15:30, 39 weeks per year.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Cover Supervisor to join our support staff team.
There is no requirement to be a qualified teacher, only a passion to support students.
Some experience working with young people would be advantageous but not essential.
The successful candidate will be required to supervise classes across the curriculum (KS3 & KS4) following a programme of study during the short-term absence of their class teacher.
They will be able to actively engage with the class and follow all classroom procedures and to contribute to raising standards by providing support to departments and the whole academy.

- The ideal candidate
- Good educational background with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience of subject background and working within the education sector
- Knowledge of using different IT software such as Microsoft Office, Email
- interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, students, parents and outside agencies.
- Positive and enthusiastic approach with the ability to work within a team as well as on own initiative.
- Knowledge of the need for confidentiality and awareness of child protection issues
- Flexibility of working hours, committed and reliable with excellent timekeeping
