Overview

In this role you will brief and debrief teams in accordance with the Divisional intelligence requirement. You will be required to rate and evaluate intelligence and liaise with other departments. You will support the Duty Inspectors by identifying risk or harm (actual or emerging) threats to the District and Force, along with providing “real time” intelligence support to operational staff to help identify suitable resources. You will review, research and develop intelligence to assist in the prevention, detection and reduction of level 1 and 2 crime, along with identifying level 1 and 2 targets, series, patterns or new trends in crime. You will ensure the effective, prompt and appropriate management of intelligence across the Division. You will support the duty inspectors with identifying risk and harm threats, provide intelligence support and help identify suitable resources

Responsibilities

The responsibilities described above include briefing and debriefing teams, rating and evaluating intelligence, liaising with other departments, providing real time intelligence support to operational staff, and identifying resources. You will contribute to the review, research and development of intelligence to assist in preventing, detecting and reducing crime and in identifying trends or targets. You will ensure effective management of intelligence across the Division and support duty inspectors with risk and harm identification and resource allocation.

Qualifications / Experience

The successful candidate will have carried out duties involving research and analytical tasks, including inputting, recording/retrieving of information and associated filing. They should have experience of preparing and presenting packages / briefing items and reports and of working in a clerical/administration environment. They should have an awareness of the National Intelligence Model. They should also have an ability to communicate effectively with others and be able to pitch information at the appropriate level to meet the needs of the audience. They should be able to identify trends or recurring themes which emerge within the daily role. They should also be competent in using computer systems including Microsoft packages and the internet. They should be willing to undertake training and learn to use a variety of computer based packages.

  • You must be at least 16 years old to apply

  • You must have at least 3 years residency in the UK to apply
