Overview
The Specialist Operations Branch is looking to recruit a full‑time groom to work within the Mounted Unit at the Hough End Complex.
Shift Pattern
The post has a 9‑week shift pattern working a range of shifts through the week and at weekend. Working hours are 06.30 till 15.00 hrs on a day shift and 14.30 hrs till 23.00 hrs on a late shift. Please note this attracts 14% shift allowance and 14.25% weekend enhancement.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide general equestrian service meeting the care and welfare, grooming and exercising needs of the horses to enable the Mounted Unit to achieve its maximum operational potential. Therefore experience and confidence in handling, from the ground, a variety of horses is essential together with experience carrying out all groom and stable duties for example grooming, feeding, mucking out, maintenance of equipment and cleaning of the complex.
Qualifications
- BHS Stages 2 or equivalent qualification or practical experience.
- Flexible approach to areas of work according to rostered schedules is essential.
