The Sports department of Manchester Met University works with some of the most recognisable sporting talent in the UK and has big ambitions for the future. We are gaining recognition as a performance sport institute, working with elite sporting partners in our city. Our performance programme supports and nurtures emerging talent, supporting over 70 teams across more than 50 sports at our world-class facilities. The programme aims to develop top-class student-centred clubs and individuals.
The Role
MMU Sport seeks to recruit a Women\’s Volleyball Coach to help drive the success of our club. You will act as the lead coaching contact for your team and collaborate with the club committee to deliver effective training sessions aligned with the students\’ needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct engaging and effective training sessions.
- Develop game strategies and prepare the team for matches.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during training.
Working Pattern/hours
Coaching aligns with the university\’s academic year. Contracts are for 22 weeks, from late September to early April. Minimum 2 hours coaching weekly, primarily on Thursdays, with some weekend sessions. Match days are on Wednesdays, with 6 home and 6 away fixtures between 13:00 and 20:00. You will be paid for 3 hours per fixture.
Flexible arrangements for fixtures can be discussed. Fixture participation is optional and will not negatively impact your application. Pay depends on experience and coaching qualifications.
