Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject and significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Further training or significant experience in project management, public relations, leadership or management

Experience

  • Track record of managing a high performing communications team to deliver internal and external communications.
  • Recent experience of working in or with the NHS
  • Experience of devising and executing successful internal and external communication and engagement plans
  • Experience of managing high profile, reputation management issues
  • Experience of crisis management, responding to emerging situations which may be distressing in nature

Knowledge

  • Have a clear understanding of all communication methods and channels, including new media
  • Demonstrate an advanced knowledge and in depth experience of using web-based content management systems

Skills and Abilities

  • Evidence of success in a team management role
  • Ability to analyse and interpret information, pre-empt and evaluate issues, and recommend an appropriate course of action to address the issues
  • Demonstrated capabilities to manage team and own projects and make informed decisions in the absence of required information, working to tight and often changing timescales
