Your role as a Gardener will involve attending to all garden areas on the Prestwich maintaining the site by pruning shrubs, mowing lawns, as well as looking after the equipment and structures like fencing, keeping the grounds safe and tidy (including clearing any snow and ice in the winter), and planting a range of flowers, shrubs and trees.
Main duties of the job:
- To undertake the repair, maintenance and inspection of all external grounds and gardens associated with the Trust and its external contracts.
- This would include grounds and gardens planting materials and equipment in accordance with relevant legislative standards and operational procedures to ensure the external grounds of the site(s) provide a safe environment for patients, public and staff.
- Be expected to produce work to a consistently high standard of work across the whole range of duties and applications required.
- Shall be prepared to undertake additional training in order to fulfil the requirements of the post, satisfy new regulations/legislation or to further develop the duties.
- Carrying out repairs, gritting and snow clearing at designated owned or occupied Trust properties.

- Experience of using weed killing equipment and ensuring all COSHH regulations are followed

Important Information about working for GMMH: All positions within the Trust are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks. The Trust mandates all post holders who require a DBS for their role to subscribe to the DBS Update Service. You will be required to enrol for this service for a fee of £16 per year and maintain registration throughout your employment with GMMH. This post will require a submission for Disclosure to be made to check for any unspent criminal convictions.
