To assist the Team Leaders in effectively managing the housekeeping teams, they will ensure that patient and staff environments are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards, and that services to patients and staff are provided effectively and efficiently.

The available position is for 30 hours per week, working early, late, and weekend shifts at the following area:

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with the skills necessary to support and supervise the domestic staff, maintaining and improving the standard of the environment and services within the department.

They will provide effective support to staff and will need good people skills, coordination, communication, and collaboration abilities to perform this role effectively.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful candidate will help maintain a clean and safe environment in line with PLACE standards, the Trust’s standards, and the National Cleaner Hospitals Programme, contributing to infection control and prevention strategies.

The role requires flexibility to respond to the service needs across multiple sites operating 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Knowledge of health and safety, COSHH, and infection prevention, including PPE and color coding, is essential.

  • Pay enhancements – 30% extra for evenings (after 8 pm) and Saturdays, 60% extra for Sundays and bank holidays.
