This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Nurse to join the Trafford Early Intervention in Psychosis service based at Crossgate House in Sale. We work with individuals aged 14-35 experiencing a First Episode Psychosis or at risk mental state. Our team is welcoming, dedicated, and experienced. We offer psychological therapies, psychosocial interventions, and comprehensive training. We collaborate closely with service users and families, providing behavioral therapy and family interventions. We value service user involvement and encourage participation in service development.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and committed, with a passion for evidence-based recovery interventions for individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis. The aim is to reduce the impact of psychosis and support individuals in living an ordinary, fulfilling life, focusing on personal recovery.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The role involves working shifts on Saturdays (midnight to midnight), weekdays after 8 pm and before 6 am, and all hours on Sundays and public holidays. Benefits include 27 days annual leave, increasing to 29 after 5 years and 33 after 10 years.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in mental health nursing

Experience

  • Recent experience in adult mental health, EIT, or CAMHS
  • Experience working with early onset psychosis and families
  • Community-based work experience
  • Lived experience of mental health issues or caring for someone with mental health issues

Knowledge

  • Impact of psychosis on young people
  • Assessment and management of clinical risk
  • Evidence-based interventions for first episode psychosis
