This post is permanent or for a secondment opportunity. The Adult Forensic Service at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust has an existing opportunity for two Consultant Forensic Psychiatrists to be a crucial part in helping drive improvements to our patients' experiences and in helping contribute to the development of our new model of care.
These substantive posts are within our male medium secure and women's blended services at The Riverside Centre. While our new model of care is under development, and definitive medical job planning is under review, it is anticipated that the post holders will be the Responsible Clinician for 12 - 16 male inpatients or 10 - 12 female inpatients, following their caseload from admission to discharge. Main duties of the job
This is an exciting time to join us as a Consultant (Forensic) Psychiatrist. This opportunity could be for a full-time post within either our women's blended secure service (WBS) or our male medium secure service. Either role would allow a successful candidate to contribute to the development of our new model of care and to shape the future of secure services for women and men from Greater Manchester.
You will be supported by a full and expanding complement of multidisciplinary colleagues, with the current position being that you will work with a medical secretary, junior doctor(s), clinical psychologist, social worker, occupational therapist, and our nursing colleagues. To support our service users' physical health, there is additionally a visiting GP, dentist and well-established physical health team.
Alongside inpatient management, additional clinical activities include on-call work, access assessments to the service, and a range of additional activities dependent on negotiation with consultant colleagues and our new model of care.

- AC/ Section 12. Approved at time of commencing post or within three months of so doing
