The predicted salary is between 43200 - 64800 £ per year.

The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical care to 18 inpatients of adult of working age and medical leadership to the inpatient ward teams, as well as supporting and contributing to the management and development of the ward functioning. The post holder will work with the Home-Based Treatment Team and Care Coordinators from the three Community Mental Health Teams in Salford, to facilitate discharge, and provide an alternative to inpatient admission.

Main duties of the job

  • Undertake assessments of referrals/ admissions to the service

  • Diagnose and formulate management plans in complex presentations.

  • Provide management in treatment resistant and complex presentations

  • Assessment and management of risk including of vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety and risk of harm to others.

  • Preparation of Mental Health Review Tribunal and Managers’ Hearings reports and attendance at subsequent hearings.

  • Work in a collaborative way with multidisciplinary teams including external partners.

  • Work in partnership with psychiatrists from partner providers such as Forensic and Rehabilitation Psychiatrists., This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
