Overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic mental health nurse to join our physical health hub within the Trafford division to support people living with dementia who are prescribed antipsychotic medication. This role would suit a nurse with older adults experience and an interest in physical health who may be looking to retire and return or reduce their working hours. The Trust promotes staff wellbeing and you will be offered supportive clinical supervision. We actively promote work/life balance, and all employees will have regular line management supervision.

Responsibilities

  • As a Band 5 nurse you will have a defined caseload on the antipsychotic pathway for non-complex service users and will complete antipsychotic reviews.
  • You will hold a caseload of approximately 25–30 people who require frequent reviews of their mental and physical health to ensure their prescribed medication is still suitable.
  • As a Band 5 nurse you will play a key role in supporting the mental and physical health agenda within the team and you will be required to have knowledge and understanding of the CPA process.
  • You will be expected to work proactively and flexibly within a multidisciplinary team model across both the physical health hub and the Adults CMHT.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with Band 5 level experience; experience with older people and physical health work is desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the CPA process.
  • Ability to work proactively in a multidisciplinary, flexible environment.
  • Pre-employment checks will be completed; see NHS Employers for details. The Trust requires DBS updates via the Update Service (enrolment is required for £16 per year and must be maintained throughout employment).

Additional Information

  • We are committed to ensuring our workforce reflects the diverse communities we serve and to removing barriers to employment for candidates from under-represented groups (e.g., BAME, Disabled and LGBT+ communities).
  • Informal chats about the recruitment process are welcomed.
  • Sponsorship: We are an approved sponsor for the Skilled Worker visa. Applications from those requiring sponsorship will be considered; eligibility may vary by role. Please review the UK Government list of eligible roles and salary requirements.
