Overview

GMMH Health and Wigan CAMHS are looking to recruit a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to work within the multi-disciplinary mental health team, which implements a stepped-care model of care to children and young people across the Wigan footprint. We are seeking an accredited CBT therapist to work within the wider mental health team alongside other psychological professionals.

The post holder will provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to individuals presenting with common mental health difficulties of varying complexity, for which CBT has been demonstrated to be clinically effective. They will work closely with other professionals and contribute to the wider formulation and understanding of presenting distress, including attending multi-professional meetings to share formulations, intervention plans and progress.

The post holder will need current accreditation with the BABCP and evidence of working with clients presenting with complex relational needs.

The post holder is primarily responsible for providing Cognitive Behavioural assessment, formulation and therapy to service users with complex mental health needs, and to provide services that meet the agreed service priorities consonant with practitioner experience and expertise.

In conjunction with other psychological therapists working within the service, the post holder will contribute as appropriate to the provision of individual and group CBT-based interventions.
