Overview

The Wigan Adult ADHD Service are looking to recruit two Clinical Nurse Specialists (NMP) to full time (37.5 hours per week) and part-time (15 hours per week) permanent positions to join our specialist team.

The service is a 9am-5pm service based at Claire House in Wigan and we have clinics based in Wigan and Leigh. Travel across the borough will be required to support this clinic offer and increase the service\'s accessibility.

The successful applicant will join a friendly and supportive team and be supported by senior clinicians who will provide clinical supervision and development opportunities within the specialist team.

The opportunity for further professional development including specialist ADHD diagnostic and assessment training and pharmacological treatment of adults with ADHD training will be considered with the successful applicant. Although specialist knowledge and experience of ADHD is desirable it is not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Completing routine reviews of patients with a confirmed ADHD diagnosis and plan clinical care accordingly.
  • Assessing the efficacy of treatment as well as completing physical health observations
  • Completing a clinical triage of referrals received in to the service to determine suitability for assessment
  • Attending the MDT to ensure we provide a collaborative approach whilst focusing on patient care
  • Liaison with other agencies involved in a service users care to ensure effective communication leading to a comprehensive and integrated package of care
  • To supervise and provide support to the Band 6 nurse and students
  • To act as an advocate to facilitate the views and choices expressed by our patients
  • Contribute to the specialist ADHD diagnostic assessment process for adults over 18 years
  • To provide Clinical Specialist input into the ADHD service
