Your role: Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people across Greater Manchester? Are you looking to join a dynamic team leading transformation and reform in children's services? In this role, you will lead the GM Care Leavers programme, working closely with local authorities, partner organisations and care-experienced young people to improve outcomes for care leavers across Greater Manchester. This includes leading delivery of the GM Care Leavers Guarantee (Care Leavers - Greater Manchester Combined Authority).

About you: This role would suit someone with a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people, alongside senior-level experience in project management or service delivery. You will be confident working independently and collaboratively, using your initiative to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at different levels.
  • Experience of working in a project environment, including the use of programme and project management methodologies and techniques.
  • Experience of working across programmes involving multiple stakeholders from different teams, organisations and backgrounds to achieve shared objectives.
  • Experience of influencing others and driving delivery.
  • A broad understanding of children's services.

FOR ROLES EXEMPT FROM THE REHABILITATION OF OFFENDERS ACT: This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and will require disclosure of all convictions including those considered spent under the Act. The role holder will be subject to an Enhanced level check by the Disclosure & Barring Service.
