This is a rare opportunity to shape one of the UK’s most ambitious place-based investment programmes. You will play an important role in the delivery of the Good Growth Fund – a pioneering investment vehicle designed to unlock housing, employment, regeneration and infrastructure projects that drive inclusive growth across Greater Manchester. Working at the heart of a high-performing team, you will help originate, appraise, structure and manage investments that deliver both financial discipline and wider public value. You will help translate strategy into delivery, working with local authorities, developers, investors and public partners to bring forward projects that create homes, jobs, innovation space and long-term opportunity for people and places. This is a role for someone who combines strong commercial acumen with a deep commitment to public impact.

About the Role

You will support Senior Investment Managers on the assessment and execution of complex investments across a diverse pipeline of projects, supporting the deployment of capital into schemes that advance the region’s good growth priorities. The role spans the full investment lifecycle – from early opportunity development and business case appraisal through to structuring, negotiation, approvals, completion and ongoing portfolio oversight. You will provide clear, evidence-led advice to senior stakeholders, help manage risk and governance processes, and ensure investments are robust, deliverable and aligned with strategic objectives. This is a highly collaborative role requiring confident engagement with internal teams, district partners, funders, legal advisers and delivery partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting in the appraisal, structuring and execution of investment proposals across housing, regeneration, commercial, infrastructure and place-based development projects.
  • Undertaking financial and commercial analysis, due diligence and risk assessment to support high-quality investment recommendations.
  • Support in the preparation of clear and compelling papers, recommendations and briefings for internal governance and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure that investment decisions contribute to wider outcomes including inclusive growth, social value, good employment, sustainability and place transformation.

About You

You will bring experience in investment, development finance, regeneration, real estate, infrastructure or structured finance. You will have a track record of assessing and progressing complex transactions, with the credibility to work across both commercial and public sector environments. You will be highly numerate, commercially astute and confident interpreting financial models, business cases and legal documentation.
