Overview

In this role you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of railway access across a portfolio of major capital projects. You will act as the primary liaison between project teams, rail operators and delivery partners to translate project needs into practical access plans. You will provide expert advice to optimise possession strategies, minimise disruption, and support safe, efficient works. The position offers a chance to influence large infrastructure delivery while working across cross-functional teams in a mission-driven transport network.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate railway access, possession and closure requirements across multiple projects and programmes
  • Develop and submit access requests to support efficient delivery
  • Provide expert railway interface and integration advice to project teams
  • Identify opportunities to maximise productive access time and optimise possessions
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders across engineering, operations and programme teams
  • Resolve access conflicts and support integrated planning
  • Ensure access requirements align with safety and programme priorities
  • Lead access review sessions to coordinate requests and confirm requirements

Key requirements

  • Experience in railway management or project management
  • Experience using LU RailSys access booking system
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and manage complex access
  • Understanding of LU access protection arrangements
  • Knowledge of railway safety considerations and access planning
