Strategy and Communications sits at the centre of the organisation, bringing together several teams with organisation-wide remits and mutual collaboration opportunities. Its work includes delivery of major events, designing and leading public affairs or marketing campaigns, providing data, evidence and analysis, leading cross-organisational programmes, and planning and responding to emerging events or emergencies in London.
We're looking for an experienced senior marketer to lead our team at City Hall, ensuring that all Londoners are aware of the work of the Mayor of London and London Assembly. The Marketing Campaigns team delivers integrated campaigns and communications interventions that help make London greener, safer, fairer and support its growth.
Responsibilities- Lead a team of campaign managers and marketing experts to drive forward the annual marketing plan.
- Represent marketing across the Greater London Authority and provide communications expertise to a variety of stakeholders.
- Work closely with External Relations groups – Press, Digital Communications, and Strategic Communications – to develop and deliver integrated campaigns.
- Collaborate with policy teams, the Mayor's Office, Transport for London and other partners to ensure campaigns are built on robust insight, reflect the needs of Londoners, and are coordinated with key partners.
- Direct relationships with external creative, research and media-buying agencies to maximise value and impact for Londoners.
- Significant experience planning and delivering campaigns for complex organisations, including implementation and budget management.
- Strong track record of delivering social marketing initiatives and policy/issue-based campaigns, behaviour-change programmes and building marketing propositions for complex initiatives.
- Extensive experience working with external partners and agencies, including pro bono partnerships to drive further value and impact.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in a complex political, high-profile organisation at a senior level to manage or supervise delivery of cross-organisational projects.
- Senior management experience and a proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, providing strategic advice on marketing and communications campaigns.
GLA staff work hybrid, up to three days per week in office. Benefits include a competitive salary, payments every four weeks, 30 days' annual leave, interest-free season ticket and bicycle loans, and a career-average pension scheme.
