Job Overview

Chief Financial Officer of Helix Academies Trust and School Business Manager for Marple Hall School

Location: Marple Hall School
Hours: 37 hours per week/full year
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: £64,000‑£74,000, plus £8,000 for Business Manager responsibilities
Start date: 29th June 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the financial affairs of the Trust, ensuring resources are used effectively and efficiently.
• Work closely with the Chief Executive to contribute to the Trust’s vision and values.
• Develop robust financial plans, identify and mitigate risks, and lead the development and maintenance of sound financial and business practices.
• Ensure compliance with the Academies Handbook and all statutory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, building relationships within and outside the Trust.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven track record in financial management within the education sector.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, accounting systems and IT.
• Exceptional organisational, communication and diplomatic skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and self‑motivation with minimal supervision.
• Disclosure and Barring check, and Part 7 Immigration Act compliance required.
