About the Role
Data is at the heart of our business, hence we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented BI Developer to join our growing Business Intelligence team. You will report into the Head of BI & Data, who has overall responsibility for the Data Warehouse team who organise that data in our localised data warehouse as well as the BI function that extract that data effectively developing value-adding Power BI reports to ensure our leaders can thrive by measuring performance to propel our ambitious growth plan. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to advance their career in Business Intelligence with a heavy lean towards delivering commercial insights through cleansed data sets sitting in our bespoke, localised data warehouse.
Global Payments are proud to support hybrid working and as such this role can be home based twice a week (subject to travel times), with offices in Stockport and Leicester.
What You’ll Own
- Providing service desk support, addressing user inquiries and resolving issues related to BI tools and reports
- Designing, developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making
- Collaborating with key stakeholders and business leaders to gather reporting requirements and ensure alignment with business needs
- Independently writing and optimising T‑SQL queries with a passion for self-development, enlisting guidance and support from senior team members
- Maintain documentation related to report specifications, processes, and user guides
- Participating in team meetings, sharing insights and learning and taking an active role in the overall team priorities and responsibilities
What you’ll bring
- Previous experience using Power BI (or confident user of other business analytics / data visualisation tool e.g. Tableau) with a strong understanding of data organisation and data flows
- A minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, focused on high quality output
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation) and confident navigating a matrix organisation
- Competent in T‑SQL
- Strong collaborator who works well both in a remote / face-to-face team environment to deliver accurately under tight timescales
- A natural innovator, with a flair for streamlining and automating reports to reduce manual intervention
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field
- The ideal candidate would have previously worked in a regulated industry.
- The ideal candidate would have previous experience in a corporate environment.
