We’re looking for a Salesforce Engineering Lead to join and lead the strategic direction, delivery, and operational excellence of our enterprise Salesforce ecosystem across Enterprise (LOB). This is a senior leadership role responsible for building and leading a high-performing engineering organisation that delivers secure, scalable, and innovative solutions supporting the end-to-end customer lifecycle.

As a member of the technology leadership team, you will be accountable for engineering strategy, organisational capability, product delivery, workforce planning, budget management, and platform performance across Salesforce technologies including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Agentforce, Data Cloud, Experience Cloud, MuleSoft, and supporting enterprise platforms.

You will lead multiple engineering and platform teams through a combination of direct leadership and people managers, ensuring alignment with business objectives, architectural standards, and operational priorities. This role requires a leader who can balance strategic thinking with execution excellence while developing future engineering leaders and fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What you will own:

  • Define and execute the engineering strategy for the Salesforce platform, aligning technology investments with business objectives and enterprise priorities.
  • Lead multiple engineering teams, engineering managers, technical leads, developers, administrators, QA resources, and platform specialists across global locations.
  • Establish and manage engineering KPIs, OKRs, scorecards, and operational metrics to drive performance, quality, reliability, and productivity.
  • Own resource planning, workforce strategy, organisational design, succession planning, and talent development across the Salesforce engineering function.
  • Manage engineering budgets, vendor relationships, consultancy engagements, and offshore delivery partnerships.
  • Drive delivery excellence across multiple products, programmes, and platform initiatives, ensuring predictable and high-quality outcomes.
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Operations, and Business leadership to define roadmaps, priorities, and investment plans.
  • Champion engineering best practices including DevOps, CI/CD, automation, observability, resilience, and secure development principles.
  • Build and maintain a high-performance engineering culture focused on accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Ensure platform stability, availability, scalability, and security while managing risk, technical debt, and operational performance.
  • Lead major incident management, service improvement initiatives, and operational governance activities.
  • Drive the adoption of emerging Salesforce technologies including Agentforce, AI capabilities, Data Cloud, automation, and advanced analytics.
  • Establish governance frameworks that balance agility, quality, compliance, and risk management.
  • Develop leadership capability within the organisation through coaching, mentoring, and career development programmes.
  • Represent Salesforce engineering within executive leadership forums, providing regular updates on delivery, risks, platform performance, and strategic initiatives.

What you bring:

  • Minimum 10+ years of technology experience, including 5+ years leading large-scale Salesforce engineering organisations or platform teams.
  • Significant experience managing managers and leading multiple engineering teams across complex enterprise environments.
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale Salesforce programmes and platform transformations.
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce technologies including Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Agentforce, MuleSoft.
  • Experience establishing engineering operating models, governance structures, and delivery frameworks at enterprise scale.
  • Strong knowledge of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, DevOps, Quality Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering principles, Release Management, Agile Product Delivery.
  • Demonstrated success managing budgets, financial planning, vendor contracts, and resource forecasting.
  • Experience developing engineering KPIs and operational performance frameworks focused on quality, reliability, delivery, and customer outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, security requirements, compliance obligations, and technology risk management.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams across multiple time zones and locations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance strategic priorities, resource constraints, and business outcomes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills with the ability to influence senior business and technology leaders.
  • Experience leading organisational change, transformation programmes, and technology modernisation initiatives.
  • Salesforce certifications and leadership experience within Salesforce-focused organisations are highly desirable.
