Join a talented pool of individuals striving to support a thriving business community. We are on the lookout for a Media & Communications Officer to join us at the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce. This is a permanent position.
As our Media & Communications Officer you will play a key role in promoting the work of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce and its members. You will support the Media & Communications Manager and the Head of Media & Communications to deliver high-impact press, PR and digital content that raises our profile and showcases the incredible work happening across Greater Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft press releases and write features for Chamberlink magazine.
- Cover major business events.
- Produce engaging podcasts.
- Contribute to the overall communications activity.
Required Skills & Experience
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a nose for a good story.
- Understanding of both traditional and digital media and how to make an impact.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and juggle multiple deadlines.
- Strong working relationships and confidence in communication.
- Enthusiasm, curiosity and a genuine interest in the regional business landscape.
- Recent journalism, PR or communications graduate with some experience in a newsroom, PR agency or press office (preferred).
