We are looking for a Wheel Maintenance Technician to help us carry out Post Tyre Turning checks, minor modifications and activities on the Stadler fleet as well as providing support to the depot utilities function.
Duties will include executing Post Tyre Turning Checks (PTTC) on the Stadler fleet in accordance with the Stadler VMI and any other relevant local procedures and SSOWs. The role is shift based. Prior to the introduction of the Clacton Wheel Lathe, you will be required to travel as required to other locations which are supporting GA’s tyre turning activities with Stadler on PTTC and its recordings.
You may be required to act as a Duty Site Manager as and when to cover roster. You will be responsible for small adjustments and repairs within your technical skills as ordered by the Depot Site Manager, as well as notifying the appropriate party of any plant, tool, or equipment defects. In addition, you will assist in providing the Depot Production function at both Clacton and Crown Point with suitably safe and effective Plant and Works Equipment in accordance with mandatory and regulatory requirements as directed by the Depot Manager Fleet North and Clacton Site Manager.
We are searching for a colleague who is familiar with fleet maintenance and operational tasks, as well as asset and information system knowledge. You will need to have the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels and have the aptitude and interpersonal skills to encourage productive teamwork. If necessary, the successful colleague must be capable of performing safety-critical work.
The ideal candidate will have an engineering apprenticeship, city and guilds (or comparable) qualifications, and appropriate experience.
