Role Overview

We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Trainee Conductor based at Colchester station. You will be required to work a combination of early, late, night, weekend and bank holiday shifts. The role requires reliable travel to and from the agreed booking location at scheduled times and a medical clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake all duties with safety as the primary concern.
  • Adhere to relevant rules, regulations, and company procedures.
  • Ensure personal safety, as well as the safety of trains and customers.
  • Protect company revenue while delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Ensure the prompt departure of all train services.
  • Report any delays to the Control team at the first opportunity.

  • Friendly, approachable demeanor with effective written and verbal communication.
  • Calm under pressure; able to think on feet and handle various situations.
  • ‘Can‑do’ attitude and enjoyment of teamwork to create a welcoming environment with customers.
