This role involves varied working hours, including peak-time coverage and weekend working. This role is area-based in the Norwich area (including Ipswich), with travel as required. You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure timely arrival for early and late shifts. You will be required to attend a medical, as all offers are subject to passing a safety critical medical. Candidates will be subject to a Right to Work check & DBS check for this position. Applicants must be aged 18 and over.
Starting salary: £49,000 per annum (during the 6-month probation period) increasing to £52,000 per annum.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, organised, and proactive Special Events Delivery Manager to oversee the planning and operational delivery of rail services supporting major events across the Greater Anglia network. This role will have a particular focus on managing services for Norwich and Ipswich football clubs' fixtures, as well as all other significant events that depend on the railway - including concerts, festivals, and city-wide celebrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of rail services for special events, ensuring a seamless experience for customers and stakeholders.
- Act as the primary liaison between Greater Anglia Railways and event organisers, including Norwich and Ipswich football clubs, to understand requirements and anticipate operational challenges.
- Work closely with operations, station, and customer service teams to implement robust event management plans, including crowd control and safety procedures.
- Develop and communicate event-specific timetables, staffing arrangements, and contingency plans.
- Analyse performance after each event, capturing lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
- Represent Greater Anglia at relevant meetings, briefings, and stakeholder engagements linked to special events.
