We are forward planning for future roles as a Ticket Office Clerk based at Ipswich Station. Successful applicants will be placed in a Talent Bank for 6 months and offered a role if a position becomes available. This is a static position, offering a consistent shift pattern, giving visibility of your shifts for the full year.
Key Criteria
- Shift times: earliest start 0445 and latest finish time 2215
- Work an average of 35 hours per week. Shift-based including early starts, late finishes, weekends, and bank holiday working.
- Applicants must be over 18 years of age.
- Must arrange own transport for timely arrival for early and late shifts.
- Employment subject to Right to Work and DBS checks, and where applicable, a medical assessment.
- Starting salary £25,435, rises at 6 months to £26,471 and at 2 years to £29,429 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting customers, selling tickets, and addressing inquiries in a customer service-oriented and friendly manner.
- Support customers in using ticket machines throughout the station and provide guidance on new ticketing technologies such as smart cards and mobile apps.
- Ensure adherence to safety, security, and cash regulations while maintaining ticket machines.
- Utilise company systems such as Fujitsu Star and Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs).
- Conduct security checks as part of the station security plan (SSP), including monitoring for left items, securing waste bins, and ensuring doors are locked or secured.
