  • You will be working an average of 35 hours per week. This role is shift-based and includes early starts, late finishes, weekends, and bank holiday working. Earliest shift starts from 0440 and latest finish 0100.
  • You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure timely arrival for early and late shifts.
  • Applicants must be over 18 years of age.
  • This role includes a compulsory 5-day Dispatch training course at our Stratford Academy, followed by a final assessment.
  • Employment is subject to satisfactory Right to Work checks, a DBS check, and a safety‑critical medical assessment.
  • This role is a General Purpose Relief (GPR) position, meaning you will provide operational cover across the team, including sickness and annual leave.

The purpose of this role is to provide a safe environment whilst delivering effective customer service and seeking opportunities to enhance customer experience at our station. Full training and uniform will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming environment while providing proactive assistance to customers on and off trains.
  • Maintain and feel comfortable providing top notch customer service in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Provide support to mobility/visually impaired customers, who may need to hold your arm or lean on you for guidance to ensure a smooth journey.
  • Collaborate with Drivers and Conductors to ensure smooth communication and service.
  • Comply with safety regulations, reporting faults and hazards as necessary, as you will be responsible for the safe and punctual dispatch of trains.
  • Collaborate with other areas of the business when required to ensure operational efficiency, whilst providing support and assistance to customers during disruption.
