Any successful candidate will need to be able to successfully pass a safety critical railway medical and DBS background check. You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure timely arrival for early and late shifts. Please note that applicants must be 18 years of age or older. This is a full time, fixed term contract, expected to last 2 years.

About the Role: As a Group Station Manager, you will be responsible for leading a cluster of stations within the Greater Anglia network including Stansted Airport. You will ensure that each station provides an effective customer experience, meets operational targets and safety standards, and supports the development and well-being of station teams. You will be a visible leader, committed to making every journey better for our customers and colleagues alike.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop Station Managers and their teams to achieve high standards of customer service, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement across all aspects of station management, including performance, cleanliness, facilities, and accessibility.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and staffing levels to optimise station performance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including local authorities, emergency services, and community groups.
  • Respond proactively to incidents, disruptions, and customer feedback, ensuring swift resolution and communication.
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of station management.

We're Looking For Candidates Who:

  • Proven experience in people management, preferably within a railway or transport environment.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • The ability to problem-solve and a passion for delivering top notch customer service.
  • Experience managing budgets, resources, and operational targets.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation (desirable).
  • Ability to work flexibly, including some weekends and early/late shifts as required.
